hi!
-
I've never minded getting my hands dirty. I spent my childhood outdoors, muddy and sunburnt, brambles in my hair. I noticed the dappled sunlight filtering through the trees, felt the twigs and moss beneath my bare feet, and laid in the grass observing the bugs and the wind. My imagination was fueled by the animals and nature around me. Working with clay and paint feels like a way to connect with my childhood self. I have found a way to keep that same fulfillment and enrichment present in my adult life by getting my hands dirty, embracing the satisfying exhaustion in my muscles, and bringing the images in my mind to life with my hands. Clay as a medium feels like an extension of my body, a material that I can get lost in, and a process that is raw, natural, and grounded. Paint as a medium feels like an extension of my mind, inviting exploration of my imagination and the natural world. The work that I do represents hours of time and love poured into crafts that are intimately entwined with my identity as an artist.
